Mandatory Advising Workshops are required of first semester transfers and first year freshmen. Art Advisors will connect with new students to provide them with next steps in registering for their workshops.
We do not meet with students individually for this required workshop.

This workshop will provide an overview of academic requirements needed for BFA eligibility.
Prospective/Newly Admitted Student Workshop
Explore your major options in the School of Art!
- Learn about the Fine Arts program and general overview from Advisors
- Tour the studio facilities
- Participate in a student panel – students and alumni from different departments will share their experiences at CSULB
- Listen to art faculty describe their programs, with an opportunity to ask questions.
Learn about the College of the Arts scholarship requirements and deadlines.
We will discuss:
- Beach application
- Portfolio requirement
- Artist statement
Art Documentation Workshop
Want to learn how to better document your artwork? Join School of Art in discussing different approaches to art documentation for 2D and 3D work. We explore how to best document your artwork with whatever equipment you might currently have on hand.
After covering some general approaches and considerations, we will open up the discussion in regards to how to best document your artwork.
Graduation Check Workshops
Are you planning on graduating in the next semester or so? Come meet with an advisor to review remaining academic requirements, and receive helpful course recommendations for final requirements.
