The 62nd International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition
The 62nd International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition (ICBSC) officially launched in January 2026, hosted by the College of Business (COB) at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). As the long-standing home of the competition, COB at CSULB once again led the start of the season with a well-structured onboarding process that included completion of corporate charters, review of Players Manual, and a comprehensive pre-competition practice round. Held across four simulated quarters in late January, the practice phase gave teams valuable hands-on experience with The Business Policy Game and ensured they were well prepared for the official competition rounds that begin in February.
As host institution, CSULB is also prominently represented in the competition field. The CSULB College of Business will compete with three teams, two undergraduate teams and one MBA team, allowing both undergraduate and graduate students to test their strategic skills alongside teams from other universities. These CSULB teams will face competition from fellow CSU campuses as well as non-CSU institutions from across the United States, including universities in Idaho, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington. International participation further strengthens the competitive environment, with teams from Canada, Saudi Arabia, and Romania joining the 2026 competition.
The combination of broad national and international participation, coupled with CSULB’s dual role as both host and competitor, highlights the College of Business’s leadership in experiential learning and global business education. As teams progress through the February simulation decision rounds and prepare for the intensive phase later in the spring, CSULB continues to provide the academic foundation and organizational support that make ICBSC a premier international collegiate strategy competition.
