The VITA program is looking forward to tax season 2027 February 1, 2027 - April 10, 2027

What is VITA? 2027

The Volunteer Income Tax Income (VITA) is an IRS program that provides free income tax preparation to low-income, students, the elderly, non-residents, and limited English proficiency individuals.

The IRS's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)  offers free basic tax return preparation to qualified
individuals

VITA sites offer free tax help to people who need  assistance in preparing their own tax returns,  including:

  • People who make $70,224 (TY2026) or less
  • Persons with disabilities; and
  • Limited English-speaking taxpayers
  • VITA sites are operated by IRS partners and staffed by volunteers who want to make a difference in their  communities

We offer a variety of convenient tax preparation services to fit your needs, including in-person appointments, online filing, and drop-off options. Additionally, we provide ITIN assistance to help individuals who need it. Best of all, our tax preparation services are completely free!

With 50 years of trusted service, CSULB has become a cornerstone of support for students, faculty, and the surrounding community. Many of our clients have been filing with us for years, trusting our expertise year after year.

PRO TIP:  To ensure you get the assistance you need, we recommend coming in as early as possible, as demand tends to increase as we approach the tax deadline
