Advising for Newly Admitted Students

Welcome to CSULB!

We are excited to welcome you to The Beach! Newly admitted students will have their first contact with an academic advisor this summer through the Advising & Registration component of SOAR. During spring semester, advisors are dedicated to assisting continuing students, but we look forward to meeting with you soon!

As an incoming student, you must complete two components to begin at CSULB:

  1. Advising & Registration - Students in a major or pre-major will complete advising and registration with their respective College advising center or academic advisor. Undeclared students will complete registration with the University Center for Undergraduate Advising (UCUA)
  2. Orientation - Facilitated by New Student & Family Programs.
