Academic Advisors

Academic advising is critical to student success. The University Center for Undergraduate Advising (UCUA) provides a variety of services to assist University academic advisors.

Academic advisors are encouraged to contact the Associate Vice President for Undergraduate Studies with concerns and suggestions.  Faculty and staff can also contact aa-advising@csulb.edu to pose questions about University academic policy and receive general advising assistance.

Advisor Training Opportunities

UCUA offers training courses for new and experienced staff and faculty academic advisors.

The New Advisor Training program covers a diverse range of topics including information about university policy and procedure, campus resources and student populations, general advising best practices, and comprehensive training on e-Advising tools.

Faculty and staff academic advisors seeking training should contact the e-Advising Project Lead & Trainer Carole Nicholson at Carole.Nicholson@csulb.edu for more information.
