We are excited for your arrival! 

Join the pre-departure chat to learn the key components of a successful transition from your home country to CSULB. This live online event will also connect you with key CIE and CSULB staff that will assist you in your journey as a new international student at the BEACH.

Spring 2027 New Students: You will have access to pre-departure information in the CIE CANVAS Course in November. Please keep an eye on your student email address, and accept the CIE Canvas Course invitation once you receive it. 

Basic Predeparture Checklist:

• F-1 I-20 document
• Valid Passport
• Valid F-1 visa
• Personal medications
• Secured housing accommodations
• Secure a phone SIM card. Some alternatives include:

  • Campus Sims 

  • Student Sims

• Prepare season appropriate clothing, shoes, undergarments
• Personal computer
• Familiarize yourself with Life at the Beach | California State University Long Beach
