Risk Management
Dedication to Safety
The goal of the Risk Management Committee is to review, develop, and maintain policies and practices that promote a safe and healthy workplace for all Beach Shops employees, customers, and guests. The Risk Management Committee has three primary objectives. The first is to mitigate any workplace risk by ensuring compliance with local, state, federal, and CSU regulatory standards. The second objective is to develop and maintain safety and health training programs that address the unique needs of our various operations. The third objective is to assess the financial impact of risk mitigation and to strategize opportunities to maximize corporate wide outcomes.
The Coronavirus Pandemic has had an unprecedented impact on our organization. We have not been immune to the challenges our country and the world has faced, in providing efforts and best practices to mitigate risk. Below are highlights of our efforts to ensure the safety of our employees, customers, and guests. It includes a detailed COVID Response Plan, and links to efforts in conjunction with our CSU campus.
COVID-19 Prevention Program
Our COVID-19 Prevention Program (CPP) is designed to control exposures to the SARS-CoV-2 virus that may occur in our workplace. These standards and procedures are developed in response to CDC and Cal/OSHA regulatory guidelines, as well as regulatory compliance through the local health department and campus safety requirements.
Our Employee Training Program
Training is critical, as we all work in a new environment. The Shops has always prioritized the health and safety of its employees, but this is now at a greater forefront, more than ever. Employees are required to complete the following trainings

Our Employee Symptom Survey
To ensure a safe work environment we require Beach Shop employees who have the following symptoms to fill out a symptom survey. The symptoms include flu like symptoms, allergies, or have been exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID. The survey is accessible via the campus Single-Sign-On. You can also access the survey by clicking the link below. Employees who are sick are asked to stay home and not to report to work until they receive clearance from the Human Resources Department.
