Housing Fire Alarm Upgrade

This project will upgrade the current fire alarm system for Parkside, Hillside and International House from Simplex to Notifier.  This will include a “like for like” replacement of fire alarm devices along with adding additional speaker strobes in accordance with NFPA 70 and NFPA 72, 2019 Edition with CA Amendments. The existing fire alarm panel will be relocated to a new closet as the existing location does not meet code clearances.  New multimode fiber will be installed from MDFC to the new Notifier panels. New fire alarm graphics for the housing fire alarm project will be added to the existing Notifier Stations at the Campus Police Department and FM Fire Shop.

LA1 First Floor Renovation

LA1 Department of Geography

This project will renovate the entire first floor of Liberal Arts 1 , (3) classrooms on LA1’s 3rd floor along with a new wet-lab on the fourth floor of Psychology.  In LA1, the first floor will be reprogrammed to house the Atlas Advising and the Geography Departments and on the 3rd floor we will be renovating (3) classrooms to give Geography (2) new computer labs and a part time lecturer office space.  On the Psychology 4th floor, we will be renovating an existing lab which will be a new wet-lab for the Geography and Psychology departments. This project will in also include new interior finishes and updated Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing services.

FCS Child Care Project

The project will include renovation and new construction to upgrade and expand the child care and teaching facilities for the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) to allow for the growth of the Child and Family program on campus.  The project will yield a significant increase in the quantity and range of childcare services available for children of students attending college as well as increase the number of graduates whose training will, in turn, allow them to improve the quality and availability of childcare programs throughout California.

PH-1, FO4, FO5 Replacement Project

The project will construct a new 83,500 ASF/128,500 GSF building for the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) to replace the existing Peterson Hall 1 building (PH1) (#37) and the Faculty Office 4 (FO4) (#36) and Faculty Office 5 (FO5) (#45) temporary office buildings. This project seeks to consolidate the College of Health and Human Services from multiple locations across campus to allow efficient operation and enable the University to increase its contribution to improving the quality and availability of healthcare professionals in California.

This project seeks to consolidate the College of Health and Human Services from multiple locations across campus to improve efficiency and allow for effective collaboration and sharing of college resources.  It will arrange the college around four functional frames to maximize utilization of shared space and technology resources.  The building design will create a collaborative culture among CHHS faculty, staff, students and its community outreach clinics.  The new teaching spaces and clinics will prepare students for the workforce by providing them with state of the art equipment and techniques utilized in the industry today. The new building will include faculty space, student collaboration space, teaching labs, research labs, administration space, a medical simulation center, and a clinic to be operated in corporation with a local regional hospital.

Heating Hot Water Replacement Phase 3

This underground piping replacement project will repair our failing underground heating hot water distribution on the south campus lateral connections to the buildings and also the north campus loop near KIN, Engineering, and the Design buildings.
