We are pleased to welcome Dr. Yutong Zhao as an Assistant Professor in Computer Engineering and Computer Science at CSULB, starting Fall 2025. He earned his Ph.D. in Software Engineering and M.Sc.

Four CECS students (Kashif Manzer, Utkarsh Lubal, Dipak Yadav, and Zaiban Kaladgi) earned 1st place in the “Partner of Saga” track at ETHGlobal New York, one of the world’s leading Web3 hackathons.

The Embedded Applications Technology Club under supervision of CECS faculty Mr. Eric Hernandez placed 3rd at the All American Micromouse Competition at UCLA on May 25, 2025.

On July 5, 2025, Long Beach Rocketry successfully launched and recovered a new gas piston parachute deployment system. The project brought together a multidisciplinary team of students from MAE, CECS, and EE, with CECS students Theodore Malaska, Nick Fan, Khoa Nyguen, and Ayleen Perez playing key roles.
