Pregnancy Options Counseling
Most patients coming to the SHS for a free pregnancy test receive pregnancy options counseling while waiting to receive their results. This short counseling session provides the patient with unbiased information about reproductive health and patients who have a positive pregnancy test are given referrals for all options including parenting, abortion, and adoption.
To get a pregnancy test at Student Health Services, you can either buy a pregnancy test at the Student Health Services pharmacy or meet with a nurse who will order a urine pregnancy test for you.
If you are pregnant and would like to discuss your options, you can meet with a health educator who has training in pregnancy options counseling. During this session, all of your options will be discussed and you will receive referrals for all options. To schedule an appointment for pregnancy options counseling, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
