Pyramid Facility Improvement Project
On January 16, an exterior suspended ceiling fell on the south side of the building. No one was injured. The ceiling panels were cosmetic, not structural, and did not impact the Pyramid building itself. The primary structural system of the Pyramid remains intact and safe.
Following further investigation and out of an abundance of caution, the University removed the similar suspended ceiling systems on the north, east, and west entrances of the Pyramid Building. New light fixtures were installed, and adjustments were made to the existing fire sprinkler system to ensure code compliance. Full occupancy and use of the Pyramid building resumed on January 30, 2025. Additional modifications and aesthetic enhancements to the entrances are currently being designed and will be implemented in the upcoming months.
