We need your help for DAY AT THE BEACH!
Sign up to help us welcome our prospective students and their families and show them the BEST that the Beach has to offer!
Staffing DAY AT THE BEACH is a full campus effort. Alumni, current students, faculty, staff, and community supporters are all encouraged to sign up to help. Nobody is a better representative of the Beach community than you!
We're again using the campus-wide Beach Volunteers platform for shift sign-ups.

We have several areas of need. From staffing the Welcome Sessions and Lifeguard Stations to the Resource Fair and college showcases, there’s something for everyone.
Everyone who helps us staff the Day at the Beach event will receive a free t-shirt and tickets to a Beach Athletics event!
Explore the resources below for more information on staffing and volunteering for the day on April 12:
Staffers and Volunteers are an essential part of the DAY AT THE BEACH (Saturday, April 12) experience for all guests and participants and we're thrilled you are interested in joining us for this major event. No specialty skills required--just a helping hand and friendly attitude required!
- Roles and responsibilities may include helping with set-up/take-down, checking in guests, guiding visitors, answering guest questions, coordinating supplies, and more. Majority of roles may involve time spent outdoors.
- Some opportunities will require virtual training before the day of the event. Information about these trainings will be sent to you via email associated with your Beach Volunteers profile.
- Be sure to wear comfortable attire; CSULB gear is encouraged!
- Thank you for reading and understanding CSULB's Campus Rules and Regulations.
All volunteers and staff who have signed up for a shift will have the opportunity to pick up their shirt at the Anna W. Ngai Alumni Center (located on Beach Drive) at the following days and times:
Wednesday, April 9th 9:00am - 5:30pm
Thursday, April 10th 9:00am - 5:30pm
Friday, April 11th 9:00am - 5:30pm
If you are unable to pick up your t-shirt before the day of the event, you can pick one up at THE POINTE at check-in.
Unless otherwise specified by the opportunity organizer, volunteers and staff may check in at THE POINTE (located on the ground level by the Gold entrance of Walter Pyramid) before proceeding to their assigned volunteer area for the day.
Please be sure to take note of your shift times. Be sure to arrive BEFORE your shift time to allow yourself time to park, navigate to your check-in location, and check-in with your opportunity lead.
When your first assigned shift ends, check in with your opportunity organizer for your next steps.
Be sure to take a break, enjoy the festivities, and interact with guests to help them navigate the campus when able! All active volunteers and staff may begin supporting take-down activities around 2:30 p.m.
