Library Hours Increase as Finals Loom Ahead

Year after year, semester after semester, despite recurring budget challenges, the Library has put the needs of CSULB students first, extending operating hours at the end of the semester for greater access to its information resources and services.  "We understand that this is a time when students rely upon our books and databases more than ever to complete projects and papers," said Dean of Library Services Roman Kochan; "Sometimes, it's only the need for a place to study, and when the library was being renovated, we rented chairs and tables to provide for the increased demand."

In cooperation with Associated Students President Erin Swetland and her cabinet, the Library, as well as the Open Access Lab in the Horn Center, will provide the following extended hours schedule in the pre-finals and final exam period:

December 7 through December 18, 2008

  • Sunday  12:30  p.m. - 2 a.m.
  • Monday-Thursday  7:45 a.m. -  2 a.m.
  • Friday   7:45 a.m. -  9 p.m.
  • Saturday  10 a.m. -  2 a.m.

With the help and cooperation of University Police and Corporal Ami Rzasa, escort service to parking areas also will be extended.
