Academic Advisors

Academic advising is critical to student success. UCUA provides a variety of services to assist academic advisors.

Academic advisors are encouraged to contact the Associate Vice President for Undergraduate Studies with concerns and suggestions.  Faculty and staff can also call UCUA at 562.985.5296 for general advising assistance.

Advisor Training Opportunities

The University Center for Undergraduate Advising offers training courses for new and experienced staff and faculty advisors.

The full advisor training program is a range of dates over approximately three weeks that covers topics such as university policies and procedures, campus resources and populations, general advising best practices, as well as comprehensive training on eAdvising tools.

Sessions can also be requested for specific topics by contacting Daniel Gleason, eAdvising Project Lead and Trainer.
