Earth Day Film Fest

Let's watch some movies together! Using the Netflix Party extension for your Chrome browser, you can join us for a virtual viewing party of a line-up environmental documentaries and films. Netflix Party allows users to watch the film in sync with each other and participate in a group discussion in real time about the film.

You must RSVP to attend this event via Netflix Party (instructions will be emailed to you).

Film Fest line-up

10 am  - 12 pm: Terra

Synopsis: Terra is a thought provoking and visually stunning documentary about Earth. It is “an ode to humanity” and a spectacular portrayal of the beauty of life. It also brings to light the struggles that we face as we stray further and further from the natural. Watching it evokes a visceral sense awe and gives pause for reflection on the interconnectedness of us all.

12 pm - 2 pm: There's Something in the Water

Synopsis: The injustices and injuries caused by environmental racism in her home province, in this urgent documentary on Indigenous and African Nova Scotian women fighting to protect their communities, their land, and their futures.

2 pm - 4 pm: How to Change the World

Synopsis: In 1971, a group of friends sail into a nuclear test zone, and their protest captures the world's imagination.
