American Sexual Health Association

Provides information about partner communication, STIs, support for those with herpes, and more.

Most patients coming to the SHS for a free pregnancy test receive pregnancy options counseling while waiting to receive their results. This short counseling session provides the patient with unbiased information about reproductive health and patients who have a positive pregnancy test are given referrals for all options including parenting, abortion, and adoption.

 

Prenatal Care Information

Prenatal care is important to begin as soon as possible during your pregnancy in order to deliver a healthy baby. This means visiting a doctor who will provide you with information about how to take proper care of yourself during pregnancy and help you with any medical conditions.

If you have health insurance and need assistance finding a provider that is covered by your health plan, please call the Student Health Services at (562) 985-4771 to schedule an appointment with the Referral Nurse.

If you do not have health insurance, you can receive care through St. Mary's Hospital in Long Beach.

Adoption Resources

Free HIV testing is available through the Student Health Services. You will be tested using a finger stick technique. Results will be rapid. This means that you will get your results back the same day, usually within 10 to 30 minutes. Low cost testing is also available for STIs and results are typically ready in 2-5 days.
