U-RISE Reinstated and Accepting Applications

The NIH CSULB (T34) U-RISE program has been reinstated as of July 2025.

We are currently recruiting students to start training.

Apply by August 8, 2025. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

The Undergraduate Research Training Initiative for Student Enhancement (U-RISE) program is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This training initiative is for undergraduate students interested in health-related research. Their mission is to enhance participation in the biomedical and behavioral research workforce in the United States.

The training program is designed to prepare students to enter a research-focused graduate degree program with the ultimate goal of pursuing a biomedical or behavioral research career.
