HR Launches Best of the Beach

PH2 Plaza Inaccessible Through June 24th, 2019

The final phase of the PH2 Plaza Fire Lane project is in effect.  Access to the middle of the plaza connecting the Bookstore to the Student Success Center and the Hall of Science will be unavailable until June 24th, 2019. Signage has been posted guiding pedestrian traffic as needed. Please contact Beach Building Services Customer Service at 562-985-HELP with any questions or concerns.

New Director of Staff Human Resources, Neil Iacono

After a national search we are pleased to announce Neil Iacono’s appointment to the position of Director of Staff Human Resources.  Neil has done an outstanding job while serving as Interim Director for the past year and has over 17 years of experience in Human Resources.  During the last 13 years, he successfully served in a variety of Human Resources functions across the campus including Faculty Affairs, Financial Management, and Staff Human Resources.

New Director of Facilities Management, Josh Cichuniec

After a national search we are pleased to announce Josh Cichuniec’s appointment to the position of Director of Facilities Management.  Josh has been a member of the Beach Building Services team for over five years. He began his career at CSULB as the Assistant Manager, Grounds and Landscaping Services and was promoted to Associate Director, Facilities Management.  Josh comes to the director role with over 15 years of experience managing facilities in higher education and the golf course industry. 

Your CalPERS and You Workshop – July 17

Whether you’re early or midway through your career, you’ll want to get a better understanding of your CalPERS benefits. Learn about your retirement income sources, how your pension is calculated, purchasing service credit, the importance of having a CalPERS power of attorney, what happens if you leave your employer. It will be held at the Barrett Athletic Administration Center (BAC), Room 223 on Friday, July 17th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This is a CalPERS workshop for employees that are not eligible to retire. Kindly RSVP by Thursday, July 12 to benefits@csulb.edu or call Benefits Services at ext. 5-2381.

Planning Your Retirement CalPERS Workshop – July 17

Do you have a minimum of 5 years of CalPERS membership? Would you like to learn more about your retirement options? This workshop is for employees planning to retire in the next couple of years.  If so, please join us for our upcoming CalPERS Planning Your Retirement workshop on Friday, July 17th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Barrett Athletic Center Conference Room. This workshop is presented by a CalPERS retirement specialist and covers topics such as: choosing a retirement date, the retirement calculation, the retirement application process, service credit and survivor continuance.  Kindly RSVP by Thursday, July 12 to benefits@csulb.edu  or call Benefits Services at ext. 5-2381
