Upcoming Evacuation Drill February 15

On Wednesday, February 15, CSULB will conduct its annual campus-wide evacuation drill from approximately 10:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. This drill will utilize the audible alarms and the visible strobes and flashing lights in each building on campus. Once you safely evacuate the building you are in, please do not re-enter the building until the drill concludes at 10:45 a.m. and all alarms and strobe lights have been turned off.

A test of the BeachALERT Emergency Notification System (ENS) will also be conducted at this time. Please take a moment to ensure that your contact information is up to date by logging into your MyCSULB account. For more information regarding evacuation procedures or other emergency protocols you can view campus emergency guides at emergency.csulb.edu.

Download a campus map showing the designated evacuation rally points. These locations were carefully selected with assistance from the Long Beach Fire Department as being the safest location for each building or area on campus. These rally points will be utilized for the evacuation drill.

Please direct any questions or concerns to the campus Assistant Emergency Management Coordinator at Allyson.Joy@csulb.edu.

New CSU Travel Restrictions now in effect

In December, we communicated the recent passage of AB1887, a California law that restricts state agencies from requiring its employees to travel to any state that has enacted a law that discriminates on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. This legislation is now in effect. Campus travel policies have been updated to ensure compliance with the law. Any university traveler or person booking university travel must now check the California State Attorney General’s website for the most current list of affected states before making any travel arrangements. Additional information regarding this change can be found on the Travel Restrictions webpage.

License Plate Recognition (LPR) – Updating Your Vehicle Information

Remember that if you drive a different vehicle to campus, even temporarily, that vehicle needs to exist in our online parking system before bringing the vehicle on campus. You can quickly add and delete vehicles in real-time using the online parking system. It is important to ensure that your vehicle information is current and correct in order to avoid an unnecessary citation. Now it is even easier to update your vehicle information online by using any one of the following methods:

  • Visit MyCSULB and click on “Manage Parking”
  • Visit the LPR home page and follow the link to “Update My Vehicle Information”
  • Go directly to the Online Parking System, log in and select “Add/Delete Vehicles”

Please visit LPR home page for additional information and FAQs.

Reminder: Donations for ASI Food Pantry can be brought to Brotman Hall 320.

Suggestions include healthy snacks, peanut butter, bottled water, toiletries.

Thank you in advance for supporting our students!
