Construction on the New College of Continuing and Professional Education Classroom Starts February 27, 2017

The construction for the new College of Continuing and Professional Education (CCPE) Classroom Building will commence on February 27, 2017. This exciting project will create a new three story building comprising 20 modern general classrooms, a large conference center, support spaces, and outdoor gathering areas. The project will be constructed at the highest level of sustainable green building standards and will be the first net-zero energy classroom building in the CSU system. Certification will be sought from the US Green Building Council as a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum building.

The construction is expected to be completed in Summer 2018 and the building will be ready for use at the start of the Fall 2018 semester. A map can be viewed detailing the contractor’s fence and staging area during the construction period. The map also includes the alternative temporary accessible routes for the duration of the construction.

Should there be any questions or concerns regarding this project, please feel free to contact Mark Zakhour, Senior Manager of Construction Services at (562) 985-7592 or mark.zakhour@csulb.edu.

Reciprocal Parking & License Plate Recognition

With the introduction of License Plate Recognition (LPR) and virtual permitting on CSULB campus, physical permits are no longer issued or required for many permit types. As a result, new parking procedures were created in order to facilitate parking on multiple CSU campuses for individuals who are concurrently employed or for those who are simply visiting those campuses.

Concurrently Employed

If you are employed at more than one CSU campus and you are on payroll deduction or have purchased your permit in full at CSULB, then you can fill out the Concurrent Employment Parking Application form and bring the signed form to the Cashiers Office. The form will be validated based on your permit status. You would then present the validated form to the CSU campus of concurrent employment in order to receive the parking permit equivalent for that campus. If you have purchased a permit at another CSU campus and wish to use it at CSULB, please see the specific procedures for each campus as outlined on the CSULB Concurrent Employment website.

Visiting another CSU campus

If simply visiting or attending events at another CSU campus, please contact the coordinator of the event for information regarding event parking or procedures specific to that campus and event. The Financial Management Office is available at ext. 5-2232 for any additional questions.

Parking Website Focus Group – March 7

A lunchtime parking focus group will be held on campus on Tuesday, March 7, 12-12:45 p.m. A free pizza lunch will be provided. The purpose of this focus group will be to provide employee feedback regarding the new CSULB Parking website. To RSVP for this event, please call Financial Management at ext. 5-2232 or email Chad.Keller@csulb.edu.
