Newly Admitted Credential Students

Students interested in pursuing teaching as a career are choosing a noble profession. Like all college-bound students, however, they face the obstacle of paying for their education. Fortunately, there are many programs that make college more accessible to students who have chosen to embrace this critical need career path.

If you are concurrently enrolled in a credential and masters program, you are considered a graduate student for financial aid purposes; please review the sections of this site for Graduate students.

In order to be eligible to receive financial aid for your Credential Program, you must be enrolled in a program that prepares you for teaching in a classroom.

Programs at CSULB Eligible for Financial Aid:

  • Liberal Studies Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP)
  • All Single Subject Credential Programs
  • All Multiple Subject Credential Programs
  • Special Education Credential Program

The U.S. Department of Education limits aid eligibility for credential programs to those programs that prepare a student for teaching in a classroom.
