Change of Major
Change of Major for Undergraduate Students
Current and continuing undergraduate students at CSULB who are interested in changing their major to one within the College of the Arts (COTA) should review the Major-Specific Declaration Requirements (MSDRs) before submitting a request.
Please note:
- Most COTA majors require a minimum overall GPA of 2.5, along with additional prerequisites outlined in the MSDRs.
- The Cinematic Arts major requires a minimum overall GPA of 2.75, in addition to other MSDR-listed prerequisites.
- Dance and Music majors: Students must audition in order to change into any dance or music major.

Once your change of major request is submitted, a College of the Arts academic advisor will review it and reach out to you directly via your CSULB student email.
