The Geography department attended the 2026 California Geographical Society and got the chance to connect with fellow geographers and various schools. Dr. Jocoy had the opportunity to present and share her findings on "The Geography of Happiness".

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Geography tables at Day at the Beach at CSULB! It was great meeting so many of you, answering your questions, and sharing what makes geography such a dynamic and impactful field.

CSULB Geography alumnus Gus Orozco (‘17) has built a career rooted in service, advocacy, and leadership. From serving in the U.S. Army and deploying to Iraq, to earning his degree in Geography at CSULB, Gus transformed his passion for environmental and community advocacy into meaningful public service.

MSGISci Student Angelica Cruz  is the 1st Place Winner for her Research Poster – Importance of Green Spaces in Long Beach – presented at the Green Generation Mixer Sustainability Showcase on 4/17/2025.
