Neighborhood Kumquat Gleaning Event

Published on June 1, 2026

Kumquat season is in full bloom, and we don’t want a single fruit to go to waste! CSULB and California Climate Action Corps are hosting a community gleaning event where volunteers will come together to harvest kumquats from local trees. The produce that is harvested will be distributed to local food pantries/banks in Long Beach. We will also be hosting a Jam-making workshop on June 30th using some of the harvested fruits!

No experience necessary! All supplies and training will be provided the morning of the event. We will provide gloves, bags, and other equipment. Just show up ready to pick!

  • Hat/sun protection
