Students interested in advising for a bachelor's in Geography should contact Undergraduate Advisor, Dr. Linna Li. Undergraduate advising is an important part of your journey through the Geography bachelor’s degree. During advising appointments, we will focus on your individual academic plan, coursework requirements, minor and certificate advising, and ensuring that you are on a path toward completing your degree and gaining the skills, expertise, and experiences toward your future career and educational goals.

Students interested in advising for the M.A. in Geography should contact Graduate Advisor, Dr. Gary Hytrek . CSULB’s M.A. program supports a broad range of research interests, including environmental and physical geography, geospatial science, human geography, housing and social justice, and global and urban studies. Competitive funding opportunities may be available through research and teaching assistantships and laboratory technician positions. The program culminates in a traditional research-based thesis. Students interested in advising for the Master of Science in Geographic Information Science (MSGISci) should contact Program Director and Advisor, Dr. Suzanne Perlitsh. This intensive, one-year, 30-unit, cohort-based program prepares students for the geospatial workforce through advanced training in GIS, cartographic visualization, remote sensing, enterprise GIS, and geospatial programming. Designed to accommodate working professionals, the program combines technical instruction with professional development, networking opportunities, and an industry-informed applied project.
