Next-Generation Facilities

With project-based learning built into our DNA and strengths in satellites, rocketry, combustion research, microelectronics, and endovascular modeling, next-generation facilities will enable our faculty and students to get hands-on experience on the research and projects that matter to the region and to the world.

With your support, we will make the following possible:

Beach Launch Pad

Provide critical funding for construction and equipment needed to extensively remodel the one-story wing of the Engineering Technology building. New and renovated facilities include spaces for satellite development, rocketry, advanced manufacturing, a collaborative wet lab, and student team project stations. The project name is a nod to its alignment to Space Beach as well as to the launching of student careers.

  • Heavy Civil Center

The Heavy Civil industry has a dire shortage of workforce and is interested in increasing awareness among and recruitment of youth. A facility that incorporates a machine shop, steel welding, concrete casting and environmental chambers, with indoor and outdoor spaces for large construction and infrastructure assembly projects will allow for more robust hands-on projects in the field.
