First-Year Mandatory Advising (FMA)
Welcome to CLA’s First-Year Mandatory Advising (FMA)!
We look forward to assisting you as you prepare for your third semester at CSULB. All CLA First-Time, First-Year students must receive mandatory advising from ATLAS to have their advising hold removed and to be able to register on time. Start the FMA process by reviewing the information below.
How Do I Get My Mandatory Advising Hold Removed?
Attend a CLA FMA appointment with ATLAS.
Where Do I Sign Up for a CLA FMA Appointment?
Check your CSULB email to sign up or click the gold banner in Beach Connect to select your appointment time.
When Do I Register for Classes?
After attending your CLA FMA appointment, you will register on your own in April.
CSULB Enrollment Services will email you with your assigned registration date and time. You can also view the details on your MyCSULB Student Center in the “Enrollment Dates” section.
Please note: Registration dates and times cannot be adjusted.
- If you are a non-CLA first-year student interested in changing your major to CLA, you will need to meet with an ATLAS advisor during Drop-In Advising to get the process started. Visit our Drop-In Advising page for advising hours, modes (in person or virtual), and instructions.
