Introducing our new Faculty: Nawon Kang
We are delighted to welcome Dr. Nawon Kang to the Department of Economics at California State University, Long Beach, beginning in Fall 2026 as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Kang received her Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University.
Nawon's research lies at the intersection of water economics, agricultural development, and environmental economics, with particular interests in water resources, drought, climate change, and agricultural resilience.
Her recent work examines how water infrastructure and institutions shape agricultural outcomes, resilience to extreme weather, and public health. We are excited to welcome Dr. Kang to our department and look forward to the valuable contributions she will bring to our students, faculty, and academic community.
