About the Office of Economic Research:
The CSULB Office of Economic Research (OER) is a research center within the Department of Economics. It conducts high-impact applied economic research, making contributions to the community. It is self-supporting, relying on sponsored research projects for funding, through which it produces economic forecasts, economic and workforce development projects, and reports, and studies that document the composition, resilience, and inclusiveness of the area economy. These projects offer students hands-on research opportunities, enabling them to make substantive contributions to the projects while developing the knowledge and skills necessary for future careers in economics and public policy.
