VA Chapter Benefits Fee Deferment 

*Your Enrollment Deposit and/or SOAR Fees may be deferred if you intend to use Veteran Readiness and Employment (formerly known as Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment) benefits (CH31) or Post-9/11 G.I. Bill® (CH33).

Have you tried to accept your offer?

When you choose to accept your admission offer, the system will determine whether you are required to pay the non-refundable Enrollment Deposit. If it is not required or if you qualify for a waiver, the system will notify you and allow you to proceed with confirming your acceptance. If you are required to pay the Enrollment Deposit and would like to apply for the Veterans Benefit Fee Deferment, select the "Exit" button and proceed with this deferment request. 

If you pay your Enrollment Deposit and SOAR Fees, you will be reimbursed based on your eligibility for benefits after your VA enrollment certification has been processed.

Eligibility for VA Chapter Benefits Fee Deferment

In order to be eligible for these fee deferments, you MUST provide ALL the following to the CSULB Veterans Services Office by the deadline:

Chapter 31 - Veteran Readiness & Employment (VR&E)

• Complete the form below stating you intend to use Veteran Readiness and Employment benefits; AND
• Your Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor must submit an authorization to the university.

Chapter 33 - Post 9/11 G.I. Bill®

• Complete the form below stating you intend to use VA Post 9/11 G.I. Bill® benefits; AND
• Attach your Certificate of Eligibility (COE) or Education Enrollment Status form (EES) (printed from the VA eBenefits website)

Additional forms and attendance at the Veterans Services Orientation will be required to complete the VA Post 9/11 G.I. Bill® or VR&E certification process.

Fall 2024 Enrollment Deposit and SOAR Fee Deferment Deadlines

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you miss the deadline dates, pay your Enrollment Deposit by the date specified by the Admissions Office or your admission offer may be withdrawn.

The deadline to submit your forms and documents to have the Enrollment Deposit deferred is May 13, 2024. You may continue to submit the forms for the SOAR fee deferment through your payment due date. 

If admitted from the Waitlist, you must submit documentation within 3 business days of the admission offer in order to have the Enrollment Deposit and SOAR fees deferred.

Please do not attempt to submit any other VA-related paperwork to our offices until you attend the Veterans Services Orientation.
