Nights at the Observatory

Come Observe the Wonders of the Universe! The Department of Physics and Astronomy invites you to join us on the Hall of Science (HSCI) rooftop to look at stars, nebulae, planets, and the Moon through our telescopes.

Observing times are held on Tuesday evenings from 8:00pm-9:00pm while classes are in session (August 22 to December 5 for Fall 2023).

To get to the roof, use the outdoor staircase* on the west end of the HSCI building (facing the bookstore).

Viewing may be canceled due to weather conditions. Last-minute announcements are available on Twitter @CSULBPhysics.

*Please contact for ADA accessibility requests by 4pm on the observing day.

Please note that paid parking is required at all times when parking on CSULB campus. Daily permits are $10 after 5:30pm (see: Permit Information for more details).

Lot E7 is the closest to HSCI, and is available after 5:30pm for general parking (with permit).

View Lot E7 on campus map.
