Overflow Parking 2018

Parking and Transportation Services will introduce a new offsite Overflow Parking permit option for Fall Semester 2018. This parking option will offer students an alternative to parking on campus during the normal peak times of parking congestion (Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.).

Permits are sold at the discounted rate of $65, more than 50% off the normal student semester rate (on-campus restrictions apply, please see below). On-campus housing residents are not eligible for this option.

Permit sales open: July 16, 2018 @ 8 a.m.

Overflow Lot dates: Aug. 27 – Oct. 18, Monday-Thursday

After Oct. 18, the offsite lot will close and Overflow Parking permits will then function as normal Student Semester Permits. Permit holders will be able to park on campus seven days a week after this date in the areas designated for Student Permits.

Free shuttle services: 8 a.m-5 p.m., Monday-Thursday

A limited number of permits (300 total) will be made available on a first-come, first-serve basis starting Monday, July 16 @ 8 a.m. Please select "Overflow Parking" from the list of available permit options within the Online Parking Portal.

NOTE: Permits are required to park in the offsite parking area and Overflow Permit stickers will be required to board the campus shuttles.

Shuttle Service

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. 
Dates: Aug. 27 – Oct. 18
Frequency:  Every 15 minutes

Shuttles will depart from the Lowes parking lot starting at 8 a.m. and every 15 minutes thereafter (ex. 8:15, 8:30, 8:45, 9:00, etc.). The last shuttle will depart from campus to the Overflow Lot at 5 p.m.

Pick-up location: Lowes Parking Lot, 2894 North Bellflower Boulevard
Drop-off location: West Campus Turnaround/USU (CSULB)

Overflow Permit Restrictions

Overflow Permits are required at all times when parking in the off-site parking lot. Parking on campus Monday-Thursday is STRICTLY PROHIBITED (Aug. 27-Oct. 18). Overflow permits are valid on campus every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. After Oct. 18, Overflow Permits will be valid on campus seven days a week and will function as a regular student semester permit until Jan. 20, 2019.

Monday-Thursday, permit is valid in the Overflow Lot ONLY
Friday-Sunday, permit is valid on campus

*After Oct. 18, the Overflow Parking lot will close and these permits will then function as normal Student Semester Permits. Permit holders may park on campus, seven days a week, in any area available to Student Permits.

Overflow Sticker Requirement

Permit recipients will be required to display an Overflow Permit sticker affixed to their campus ID to board campus shuttles to/from the Overflow Lot location.

Individuals may visit the Visitor Information Center (VIC) on campus with their CSULB ID between July 20 - August 26, 2018, to claim their Overflow Permit sticker. The VIC is open daily Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday-Sunday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

*On-campus parking Aug. 27-Oct. 18 is restricted to Friday, Saturday and Sunday ONLY.
