Drop-Off Zones FAQ
These zones were designed to remove traffic from known congestion trouble spots on roadways and parking lots and create dedicated locations with improved signage, ADA access, and pedestrian safety when individuals enter/exit vehicles.
The Drop-Off/Pick-Up zones are located near points of interest on campus including upper campus academic buildings, the CSULB Library, University Theater, Carpenter Performing Arts Center, and athletic venues like the Walter Pyramid.
Yes, each zone features ADA accessible ramps and curb cuts.
Please contact the Bob Murphy Access Center for addition information or accommodation services at CSULB.
The cellphone waiting area on campus is located in the South Turnaround near the CSULB Library and University Theater.
There are 7 spaces designated where individuals can wait for up to 15 minutes without purchasing a parking permit. Drivers may wait here while they make contact with their passengers. After making contact, drivers should depart the cellphone waiting area and proceed to one of the 6 Drop-Off/Pick-Up zones to pick up their passengers.
No problem! Just move from the 15-min cellphone waiting area to the nearby Short-Term parking spaces and purchase either a 30-min, 60-min, or 90-min parking permit from the pay station provided or from the ParkMobile App.
