Data Warehouse Reporting 12c - All BU Reporting

Prerequisites:

Course Information:

This course is required for all new and current Data Warehouse End Users.

Course Description:

The following will be covered for all BUs (LBCMP, LBFDN, LB49R):

  • An overview of features in 12c
  • Managing Budgeted Funds

Prerequisites:

Course Information:

This course is targeted for LBCMP Business Unit End Users needing to perform reconciliations and/or analysis of Labor Cost Distribution data.

Course Description:

The purpose of this course is to teach the End User how to perform various financial analyses using payroll data and managing a budget that includes payroll costs.

Course Information:

This course is required for all Business Unit End Users that have fiscal management responsibilities.

Course Description:

Attendees will gain a fundamental understanding of the Chartfields, Speedcharts and Approval processes. This class provides

  • an introduction to CSULB business units, ledgers and funds
  • definitions of the chartfield values that form the Chart of Accounts
  • an explanation for the use of speedcharts with campus chargeback providers
  • an understanding of Signature Authority & Delegation of Authority (DOA)
  • the process for inquiring on Delegation of Authority (DOA)

This course is the first of two customer service trainings targeted for Financial Management staff and students who provide in-person customer service to the Campus Community.

Travel Workshop

Course Information:

This course is recommended for CSULB Faculty and Staff who are new to Employee business travel at the University, and current members who want a refresher.

Course Description:

The purpose of this workshop is to provide an overview of proper campus travel procedures. End Users will learn what documentation is required before, during, and after business trips to ensure successful travel claim transactions.

Course Description:

This course will cover how to look up vouchers associated with an individual who travels, plus reviewing supplier vouchers (1) attached to PO and (2) stand alone, and any documents related to the voucher.

  • Understanding the difference between invoices and vouchers

Course Description:

The purpose of this course offered by Risk Management is to provide an overview of CSULB insurance requirements, required insurance documents, and risk identification/assessment.

Purchasing Procurement Card Training

Prerequisites:

Must be a procurement cardholder, or reconcile on behalf of a procurement cardholder.

An approved FAA form (PDF) (for cardholders and reconcilers) and Procurement Credit Card (DocuSign) (for cardholders) request form must be on file to attend class.

It is recommended that attendees complete the “Chartfields, Speedcharts and Approvals” training prior to enrollment in this course.

Course Information:

This course is targeted for CSULB Employees who are procurement cardholders and need to understand guidelines and permissible purchases, in addition to learning how to reconcile procurement card transactions for their own card, or reconcile on behalf of a cardholder before the cardholder reviews and signs the report.

  • Card Program and Usage Guidelines
  • Understanding How to Purchase and Pay and the impacts on cardholders
  • Monthly Reconciliation Process Overview
  • Modifying Transactions within the CSF ProCard module

This high-level workshop is required for staff members responsible for ordering office supplies, goods and services.

Course Description:

This workshop offered by Purchasing is to provide an overview of CSULB Purchasing guidelines; and Purchase options, such as submittal of on-line Requisition/Purchase Order, P-card, Staples, and Direct Expense.

Purchasing IT (Information Technology) at the Beach

Prerequisites:

Attendees must be authorized to submit online requisitions, or support the procurement of information technology for their department.

Course Information:

This course is required for staff that either submits procurement or compiles requests for information technology products or services, which require an E&IT Checklist.

Course Description:

Attendees will be:

  • Introduced to the new procurement compliance review (PCR) process;
  • Familiarized with the areas of compliance being reviewed: Accessibility (ATI – Accessible Technology Initiative); Security and Technological Coordination;
  • Walked through a typical IT purchase
    • what is needed before the online form is completed;
    • how the form is accessed;
    • using the online E&IT checklist form;
    • where the request goes and how it is handled;
    • how the request is submitted, tracked and reviewed.

Course Description:

This course will cover how to look up and review requisitions, purchase orders and related documents.
The following will be covered:

  • Understanding the Requisition to Payment Lifecycle
  • Inquiring on Requisition or Purchase Order Status
  • Running Lifecycle Reports

Cash Handling/Credit Card/E-Commerce Payment Policies

Prerequisites:

Must be authorized to handle Campus payments via cash, checks, credit cards and e-commerce on behalf of a department or other operation of the University or University Foundations.

Course Information:

This course is required for employees and student workers with access to cardholder data; and assigned cash, cash-equivalent, checks and e-commerce duties. Annual training is mandatory for employees or student workers in areas designated to handle Campus payments.

The purpose of this course is to train employees and student workers on the following:
