Lisa Krohn
Lisa Krohn is an interdisciplinary designer and educator whose work bridges strategic forecasting, experience design, brand strategy, products, furniture, interiors, sets, exhibits, and web. As Creative Director of Krohn Design, she has collaborated with clients including MillerKnoll, Disney, and Alessi. Her work is in museum collections, including the Smithsonian Cooper Hewitt, MoMA San Francisco, MoMA New York, the Denver Art Museum, Cranbrook Museum, Grand Rapids and Brooklyn Museums, and 3 international museums. She has been honored with accolades, including the Grand Prize in Forma Finlandia Design for Tomorrow, the Chrysler Award for Innovation in Design, the Rome Prize, and a Fulbright to Italy to work with Mario Bellini.
Research focuses: Strategies to support human flourishing, increase efficiency, and reduce friction in AI-enhanced, nomadic products, and exploring how technology can support dynamic lifestyles. She aims to transform emerging technology into elegant, functional solutions that harness information to enhance our humanity, foster authentic interpersonal connections, and promote wellness. Currently developing an AR headset, an identity for a robotics team, and a talk about design ethics for a group of attorneys.
Apart from her teaching at CSULB, Krohn teaches the history of design and disruptive innovation at Art Center and design development and entrepreneurship at USC School of Architecture.
