Headphones

Headphones are REQUIRED in FEA instructional and open labs SSC-060, SSC-050 and PH1-208. While you ought to follow the recommendations of your audio instructors, headphones at minimum must have the following attributes:

Closed-air earcups and 1/8" and 1/4" phone plug capability (with adapter). Sony Model 7506 is a de facto industry standard. 

NOTES:

• It is advisable to have extra 1/8" --> 1/4" mini phone plug adapters on-hand as they are very easy to lose.
• You MUST use the headphone distribution amplifiers or mixers located at each host. They are either provisioned with 1/4" stereo phone jacks (Apple iMacs) or 1/8" stereo mini phone jacks (HP Z4 Windows).  
• Do NOT connect your headphones directly to the iMac or the HP Z4 PCs; that is, do NOT disconnect the 1/8" phone plug cable on the rear of the computer or use the jack on the front of the tower.
