Holiday Greetings from the Film & Electronic Arts Department!

A Message from Department Chair, Anne D’Zmura:

As we come to the end of our fall 2021 semester, we reflect back on the challenges our resilient faculty, students, and staff have overcome. As you can imagine, it’s been a difficult time navigating the how’s of teaching filmmaking through this pandemic. Yet, the determination of our students, the inventiveness of our faculty and the inspiring dedication of our staff have brought forth stunning accomplishments during this time.

My last three and a half years of serving as Chair of FEA are among my most rewarding years at CSULB. In January I will begin service as Interim Associate Dean of COTA. In my place, I am delighted to announce that Assistant Professor Adam Moore will be stepping in as Interim Chair of FEA, and Professor David Waldman will continue service as Associate Chair of FEA. They make an exquisite leadership team who, in collaboration with everyone in FEA, will continue the exciting transformation of the department. I thank everyone in FEA for their changemaking spirit and actions. I wish all of you a Happy Holiday Season and a Shining New Year! I look forward to seeing you on campus in the Spring!

A Message from new Interim Department Chair Adam Moore:

I taught my first class at The Beach in January 2012. Exactly ten years later, it’s my incredible honor to serve as the next chair of the Film & Electronic Arts Department. Over the years, this school has become more than a place of employment – it’s become a second home. We are coming out of one of the most challenging times for our department, but we are stronger than ever, prepared to unveil a brand-new curriculum that meets the needs of a new generation, and to continue our history of award-winning excellence. If it’s been a while since you connected with the department, we invite you to follow us on social media on Facebook and Instagram, as well as keeping up to date with the department through our website. We are One Beach, united by our promise to elevate the next generation of filmmakers and scholars, whose unique voices and stories will change the world. From our home to yours – Happy Holidays!
