Chicanx & Latinx Studies Student Association

The Chicanx Latinx Studies Student Association (CHLSSA) is a student organization at CSULB where a network of students explores historical and contemporary issues that impact Latine communities on campus and in the world. CHLSSA organizes a variety of social, political, and academic oriented events, aiming to uplift the student body through the provision of information and resources. Additionally, CHLSSA encourages students to explore the Chicano and Latino Studies department by considering a major/ minor in CHLS or by taking elective courses within their specialized interests. CHLSSA is an organization listed under the Divest Coalition at CSULB and strongly advocates for the fight towards social justice on multiple scales, from our local communities to our extended connections abroad. Every student is welcome within CHLSSA, and we encourage curious students to attend our general meetings, visit El Centro, and to follow us on social media for more information.
