Dr. Christine Whitcraft
Principal Investigator
Christine is a Professor at California State University, Long Beach who came here via Williams College, Scripps Institution of Oceanography (Ph.D.), San Francisco State University, and San Francisco Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (post-doc). Wetland ecology provides an opportunity for Christine to have a job and be outside at the same time!

Graduate Students
Daniella Gavriel
Daniella is a 4th year graduate student, researching the restoration trajectory of oyster and eelgrass beds in Upper Newport Bay. She graduated with her B.S. in Biology from CSULB.
Kevin Fistanic
Kevin is a 2nd year graduate student, researching the variation in cordgrass physiology and morphology as indicator of condition for southern California estuaries. He graduated with his B.S. in Biology from Occidental College.
Jacob Frank
Bo is a 1st year graduate student, researching how density of oyster shell on restored beds influences invertebrate communities. He graduated with his B.S. in Biology from CSULB.
Matt Harl
Matt is a 1st year graduate student, researching how fish community composition varies among southern California estuaries and how this could be used to develop an estuarine fish condition index. He graduated with his B.S. in Marine Biology from University of Alaska Southeast.
Mia Rogalski
Mia is a 1st year graduate student, researching how trophic structure varies among southern California estuaries. She graduated with her B.S. in Environmental Sciences from Loyola University Chicago.
