BEACH STREETS EVENT
Bellflower Boulevard and Atherton Street Closed
Saturday, April 29, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

On Saturday, April 29, Atherton Street will be closed between Bellflower Boulevard and Palo Verde Avenue from 8 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. for the Long Beach City event, “Beach Streets.” Guests attending events at Carpenter Performing Arts Center, Daniel Recital Hall or Martha B. Knoebel Dance Theatre will access parking from Palo Verde Avenue, including Lots 11A and B, and Parking Structures 2 and 3.

For a single day, this traffic corridor will be closed to cars and the street is open to people walking and bicycling. The event attracts local residents and visitors from across the region to explore and discover the area at a slower "foot-traffic" pace. Participants of all ages will enjoy family-friendly entertainment at festival hubs along the route, such as CSULB-sponsored tables hosted by the Sustainability Team, the 49er Bookstore, Athletics, and more. Modes of transportation along the route include walking, bicycles, skates, rollerblades, skateboards, basically anything without a motor (officially marked means of transportation for those with disabilities excepted). More info is available at the Beach Streets website.
