Overflow Parking - Spring 2026
The Overflow Lot for Spring Semester 2026 will be closer, less expensive and have a shorter time commitment. This permit option will be available for purchase starting on Monday, 1/5/2026, at 8 a.m.
The Overflow Parking Lot for spring semester 2026 will be located at 6251 E. Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach (1 mile from campus) for the first 5 weeks of spring semester 2026. After 2/19/2026, all overflow parking permits will function as regular Student Semester permits (expiring on 6/7/2026) with all the associated student permit privileges. A limited number of permits will be made available on a first come, first served basis starting 1/5/2026 via the Online Parking Portal.

NOTE: Permits are required to park in the offsite parking area and Overflow Permit stickers will be required to board the shuttles.

Frequency: Every 10 minutes
Shuttles will depart from the Gaslamp parking lot starting at 7:30 a.m. and every 10-15 minutes thereafter (ex. 7:45, 8:00, 8:15, 8:30, etc.). The last shuttle will depart from the South Turnaround on campus to the Overflow Lot at 5:15 p.m.

Overflow Permits are required at all times when parking in the off-site parking lot. Parking on campus Monday-Thursday is STRICTLY PROHIBITED from Jan. 20-Feb. 19, 2026. Overflow permits are valid on campus every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. After Feb. 19. 2026, Overflow Permits will be valid on campus seven days a week and will function as regular student semester permits until they expire on June 7, 2026.

*After Feb. 19, 2026, the Overflow Parking lot will close, and all overflow permits will function as regular semester parking permits. Permit holders will be able to park on campus, seven days a week, in any area available to the regular Student Permit.
The Overflow Permit is available to CSULB students only.
The permit is designed for those students who have daytime class schedules that begin after 8 a.m. and finish before 5 p.m. as these are the times of peak traffic on campus when additional parking capacity is needed.
The last shuttle departs from campus to the Overflow Lot at 5:15 p.m. If you have classes after this time (Monday-Thursday), we recommend that you purchase a regular Student Semester parking permit and do not purchase the Overflow Lot permit.
Permit recipients will be required to display an Overflow Permit sticker affixed to their campus ID card in order to board the shuttles to/from the Overflow Lot location.
You can pick up your sticker at the Parking Office or the Visitor Information Center during normal business hours starting on 1/5/2026. These stickers will also be available in the Overflow Parking Lot during the first week of its operation, 1/20-1/22/2026.
