Nathan Dorman
Nate Dorman is a lecturer whose teaching and research explore the intersections of culture, religion, and community. He holds an M.A. in Anthropology from California State University, Long Beach, as well as an M.Div. and M.A. in Theological Studies from Liberty University. His research interests include the anthropology of religion, Brazilian and Latin American cultures, surfing communities, Christian theology, and comparative ethnography across the Global North and South. Blending these interests, he is currently in a Religious Studies PhD program at The Open University, where he is studying the influence of the sport and practice of surfing on the formation of religious communities.
