Mt. Trumbull Archaeology Field School
Every summer, archaeologist Dr. Sachiko Sakai offers a field school at a Virgin Branch Ancestral Pueblo at Mt. Trumbull in northwestern Arizona. For six weeks, students gain practical expertise and learn new archaeological methods such as mapping, excavation, artifact analyses, and field survey. Students leave this field school with extensive, applied archaeological knowledge, which can lead to exciting job opportunities, including in CRM. China Ethnographic Film Field School
Travel to China in this summer field school to learn ethnographic film production with Dr. Wilson and Dr. Rousso-Schindler. Students will assist museums preserve indigenous cultures through digital ethnographic media geared towards Chinese audiences. In addition, students will create visual ethnographies (short films, VR/360 cinema projects, and augmented reality projects) on indigenous cultures, Chinese cultural politics, or cultural geography of the area for Western audiences.
