This year-long interdisciplinary K-12 program exists for educators who wish the receive professional learning opportunities that help build a foundation in teaching eco literacy.  Participants will:

  • Explore how the Environmental Principles & Concepts are integrated into the California History/Social Studies framework & NGSS
  • Attend field studies at: LA River, National Park Services, Willow Springs Watershed and more!
  • Build knowledge about sustainability, resilience, and the environment
  • Develop students' global competence
  • Integrate design thinking into instructional plans
  • Engage students in relevant learning and problem solving
  • Facilitate student-driven sustainable communities civic action projects
