We believe that understanding the world is inseparable from shaping it. The Global Studies Department at California State University, Long Beach equips students to think critically, act ethically, and work inclusively across cultures to confront the challenges of our time and imagine more just futures.

Our mission is to provide an interdisciplinary education that prepares students to understand global systems, engage with diverse perspectives, and contribute meaningfully to local and international communities. Through innovative teaching, research, experiential learning, and community engagement, we empower students to become informed global citizens and leaders in an increasingly interconnected world.
