Ayendili’s career path within Enrollment Services began in 2014 as a student assistant within the financial aid department. Upon graduating, she transitioned into a staff position within the same department. Ayendili received praise for her assistance to a student, but she has also been recognized by a co-worker for her collegial
As a Faculty Affairs staff member for twenty-five years, Liz Harris has earned a reputation as a subject matter expert not only within the department, but also across campus and throughout the system. Colleagues have praised her character and her contributions.

Asvapathanagul served as the environmental engineering area coordinator from 2012 to 2023, teaching a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in environmental and water resources engineering totaling 14+ courses. She oversaw the environmental engineering curriculum, laboratory, and instrumentation, and served as a graduate environmental engineering area advisor from 11 years.
At the COB, Hieu has taught both undergraduate and graduate courses in principles of marketing, marketing management, and international business. He attended two teaching effectiveness workshops at Harvard Business School, gave talks to business faculty from China, and taught mini marketing modules to local entrepreneurs as part of the CSULB Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IIE) outreach program.
Dr. Chang is a co-leader of the Faculty Formative Feedback Project (FFFP) and works to contribute to building an equitable and empowering culture at CSULB by engaging faculty in meaningful conversation about addressing inequities in the classroom through survey data and class observations.
Dr. Bhandari, an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, exemplifies the highest standards of excellence in teaching. Over nearly a decade, she has inspired countless students with her dynamic and inclusive teaching style, fostering a deep appreciation for biochemistry while creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.
Dr. Stankowich joined the CSULB faculty and established the Mammal Lab in 2012, making significant contributions to evolutionary biology, behavioral ecology, and urban mammalian ecology. In that time, he has published 44 papers, delivered 63 oral presentations, including 41 invited seminars at national and international universities and conferences, and secured nearly $500,000 in funding. His research has advanced scientific understanding and elevated CSULB's profile through high-impact publications and successful mentorship of graduate students.
Dr. Kathryn McCormick is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. She does theoretical mathematics research in functional analysis, specifically studying groupoid algebras and nonselfadjoint operator algebras.
Dr. Rashida Crutchfield, a professor in the School of Social Work at Cal State Long Beach, is credited with significantly changing universities’ understanding of how housing and food insecurity create barriers to students’ success.
Hired in 2003 in the Department of Biological Sciences, Dr. Young committed early on to make her classroom and research laboratory student-centered. While she was recognized for her effective and innovative teaching and mentoring, Young strove for student success beyond students she worked with directly by creating learning communities for colleagues.
Throughout her 42-year tenure at California State University, Long Beach, Dr. Loucine Huckabay has been a strong supporter and advocate for all students, especially those from historically underserved backgrounds. She is well known for mentoring students struggling academically, or those whose home or work situations interfere with their academic success.
