Outstanding Staff Award Recipients

Christina Salvador
OSA Recipient 2024-2025
This year, we are proud to recognize Christina Salvador as a Staff Council Outstanding Staff Member, a title that reflects not only her extraordinary professional achievements but the warmth and spirit she brings to every corner of campus life.
Christina has been a stellar presence at CSULB for an incredible 30 years. As Associate Director of Prospect Research, she has played a critical role in nearly every major fundraising campaign at The Beach. From implementing advanced tools and strategies to establishing the university’s prospect management system, her impact on University Relations & Development (URD) is deep and enduring.
Her expertise has been sought after by peer institutions across the CSU system and beyond, with other universities regularly reaching out to her for best practices. Her colleagues know her as a trusted mentor, a go-to collaborator, and a professional who brings rigor, creativity, and positivity to every project she touches. “Christina guided the implementation of new tools and approaches for Prospect Research. Her thorough and tireless work played a vital role in all of CSULB’s successful fundraising campaigns,” noted a former supervisor.
But Christina’s influence goes far beyond her job description.
Known affectionately as the “heart of the division,” Christina has championed campus culture with her unique ability to “bring the fun,” whether it's organizing a casual potluck, a themed office decorating contest, or a Beach-style Olympics in the West Gym. She’s often seen volunteering as Elbee, our university mascot, spreading joy and school pride at countless university events.
As a longtime member of Staff Council and Co-Chair of the Special Events Committee, Christina helped lead many signature events, including Spring and Summer Staff Days, Spooktacular, and the Cherishing the Children Toy Drive. One of her standout achievements was organizing the Philanthropy Fair for CSULB’s first Giving Day, a wildly successful event that introduced hundreds of students, faculty, and alumni to the importance of private giving.
A CSULB alumna herself, Christina gives back with incredible pride and consistency, always going the extra mile for her colleagues, her community, and her university.
Besides being excellent at her job, she’s an even better person; approachable, kind, and always willing to go the extra mile,” said a former student assistant.
Christina Salvador embodies everything we strive for at The Beach: dedication, compassion, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to making a difference. Please join us in celebrating this incredible milestone in a truly remarkable career!
Congratulations, Christina! Thank you for 30 amazing years!
