Low Emission Priority Parking Spaces

CSULB has 37 priority parking spaces to provide closer parking for those who choose to use a Clean Air Vehicle for their commute. Electric, plug-in hybrids, and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, as well as other less common clean air vehicles that are on the California Air Resources Board list (CNG & LPG), are eligible to park in these spaces.

A valid parking permit is required at all times when parking on campus. A valid Employee permit is required when using low emission spaces located in Employee (E) Lots; however, student permits are allowed to park in these spaces after 5:30pm (Mon.-Fri.) and all day on weekends (Sat.-Sun.).

Campus commutes are the largest contributor to CSULB’s GHG emissions. These spaces will serve as an additional benefit for those who drive zero emission vehicles and an incentive for others to consider a clean air vehicle as their next vehicle purchase or rental.

See the location of these space on our Interactive Map.

  • Lot G1 – 32 spaces
  • Lot E3 – 1 space*
  • Lot E5 – 4 spaces*

*Low emission spaces located in Employee (E) Lots are available for employees only; however, student permits are allowed to park in these spaces after 5:30pm (Mon.-Fri.) and all day on weekends (Sat.-Sun.).

Due to the high demand for parking during regular in-person classes and to reduce the emissions caused by circling vehicles during peak hours (10 a.m.-3 p.m.), the priority spaces in lot G1 will open to all vehicles at 10 am. The spaces in Lot E3* and E5* will remain restricted to Clean Air Vehicles at all times.

*Low emission spaces located in Employee (E) Lots are available for employees only; however, student permits are allowed to park in these spaces after 5:30pm (Mon.-Fri.) and all day on weekends (Sat.-Sun.).
