Kevin O'Brien has directed the Film/Video program at El Camino College since 2000 and also teaches film production and media studies courses at his alma mater California State University Long Beach where he earned a BA in Radio/TV. Professor O’Brien also holds an MFA from the University of Southern California in film production and screenwriting. When time allows, he serves as producer, cinematographer or story consultant for colleagues' film projects. Two short narratives he shot for SKAZ Productions, Missed Communication, won Regional and International CINDY (Cinema in Industry) Awards with special citations for directing and writing. Kevin’s newest project is a short film he produced that is currently in postproduction. Arroyo is a faculty/student collaboration with crew made up of students from El Camino, CSULB and our sister school in Germany, Hamburg University of Applied Sciences.
