Yes. CSULB Dance requires auditions for all degrees: BA in Dance, BS in Dance Science, and BFA.
The audition will last 2 to 2.5 hours.
Yes, CSULB Dance offers a minor. If you are interested in taking majors level technique class and auditioning for Department concerts, you must pass the Minor Technique Screening (MTS). The MTS is offered in August and February. More information about the MTS is available on our Minor in Dance page.

The Department of Dance is unable to offer scholarships to incoming undergraduate students; however, department scholarship auditions for continuing students are held every spring semester and prioritize need and merit. Students are encouraged to audition for department scholarships, which are applied to the next academic year's tuition.

The Department of Dance typically offers scholarships to incoming Master's degree students in the MFA in Dance program. Applicants to the MFA degree are considered for a scholarship as part of the audition process. To receive full consideration, applicants should complete the FAFSA.
The MA in Dance program is a self-support program, making applicants ineligible for scholarships; however, applicants are eligible for Federal and other educational loans. To receive full consideration, applicants should complete the FAFSA.
